The OCAC held the below international competitions in 2021. In the future, the OCAC may continue some of the competitions and we welcome all interested overseas youth to participate!
1. Mandarin Speaking Competition for Overseas Compatriot School Students and Overseas Compatriot Students Studying in Taiwan
To improve students’ interest and confidence in learning Mandarin, the OCAC adopted innovative technology to hold the Mandarin Speaking Competition for Overseas Compatriot School Students in 2020. A total of 1,533 students participated. In 2021, the 2021 Mandarin Speaking Competition for Overseas Compatriot School Students and Overseas Compatriot Students Studying in Taiwan was held, with a total of 1,044 students participating.
2. Mandarin Singing Competition for Overseas Compatriot School Students and Overseas Compatriot Students Studying in Taiwan
To encourage overseas compatriot schools to guide students to learn Mandarin and demonstrate music talent through Mandarin songs, the OCAC held the Mandarin Singing Competition for Overseas Compatriot School Students and Overseas Compatriot Students Studying in Taiwan with the Ministry of Culture and Hakka Affairs Council in 2021. 438 students of overseas compatriot schools in 22 countries participated and 269 overseas Chinese students in Taiwan from 85 schools participated. In total, 707 students participated. OCAC also arranged the winner of the first place of overseas Chinese students to perform in the evening event for the Double Ten ROC National Day celebration on October 9.
3. Mandarin Writing Competition for Overseas Compatriot School Students
To increase the interest of students in overseas compatriot schools in learning traditional Chinese, to strengthen their ability to write in Mandarin, to improve exchange among schools and to demonstrate the results of Mandarin learning, the OCAC adopted AI technology for the first time and held the Mandarin Writing Competition for Overseas Compatriot School Students. The Competition was divided into two rounds; tevaluation in the first round will be done by the AI system adopted by the Competition in 2021. The selected writers joined the second round, in which professional judges assessed the work. 424 participants completed the first round, and 100 participants were selected for the second round.

1.全球僑校學生及僑生華語口說爭霸賽
僑委會為提升學生學習華語文之興趣及自信，於2020年首度結合創新數位科技舉辦「全球僑校學生華語口說爭霸賽」，共計有1,533名學生參加；2021年辦理「2021僑務委員會全球僑校學生及僑生華語口說爭霸賽」，海內外計有1,044名學生參與。
2.全球僑校學生暨僑生華語歌唱大賽
僑委會為鼓勵全球僑校引導學生透過華語歌曲，體驗華語文學習並展現音樂才藝，2021年與文化部及客家委員會聯合舉辦「海外僑校學生暨僑生華語歌唱大賽」，海外僑校學生組計全球22國、438人參與，國內僑生組計全國85校、269人參與，總參與人數達707人。僑委會並安排國內僑生組第一名於10月9日國慶晚會中演出。
3.全球僑校學生作文比賽
僑委會為提升全球僑校學生學習正體字華語的興趣，強化華語文寫作能力，並促進各僑校學生交流學習及展現華語文學習成果，2021年首次運用AI技術舉辦「全球僑校學生作文比賽」，採初賽、複賽兩階段賽制，初賽將由比賽平臺AI系統即時批改評分並擇優參加複賽，複賽則交由國內專業評審進行評分；經統計有424人完成初賽，並有100人進入複賽。
