After the guests left, Smart Mouth did not dare to open her mouth to speak. Since she could no longer ask the younger daughter-in-law to do things, she had to start doing things herself. Whenever she opened her mouth to complain about the younger daughter-in-law, she remembered what Uncle said and shut her mouth immediately. Soon, Smart Mouth learned how to cook delicious food on her own. She became hardworking and stopped nagging. Everyone began to like Smart Mouth, and Smart Mouth felt happier than ever before.

　　等到舅舅和朋友敲門時，巧嘴兒說：「弟媳你去房裡休息，客人我來招呼就好了。」舅舅的朋友說：「菜真好吃！」巧嘴兒：「我煮的。」舅舅的朋友說：「有點糊！」巧嘴兒：「弟媳燒的柴火。」舅舅的朋友說：「鹹淡剛好！」巧嘴兒：「我炒的菜。」舅舅的朋友說：「油太多！」巧嘴兒：「弟媳放的油。」舅舅的朋友說：「那怎麼不叫弟媳一起吃？」巧嘴兒：「她好吃懶做，每天早出晚歸。」舅舅的朋友說：「妳要管管她。」巧嘴兒：「我命苦，那敢罵她。」舅舅說：「不會呀！妳一臉貴婦相，手又細又嫩，只有嘴巴不好，五年內妳能忍住不說話，一定會成為貴婦，否則會變窮又變醜。」

　　客人走後，巧嘴兒就不敢說話，想叫弟媳做事又比不清楚，只好自己動手做，想罵人又怕破戒。沒多久，巧嘴兒煮了一手好菜，變得勤勞、不嘮叨，大家都喜歡和她在一起，巧嘴兒也變得更快樂。
