Introduction: People greet each other over the Lunar New Year to wish each other prosperity and abundance. This episode teaches how to create lotus and fish (which sound like “annual surplus”)with tools such as horn tips, scissors and bamboo sticks, etc. In addition to basic techniques, students need to practice different skills in making round, oval, droplet and fusiform shapes. The shapes can be paired with colors to present different textures, eventually creating vivid works of lotus and fish as well as fish leaping over the dragon gate.
