Painting Episode 2: Round Fan to Celebrate Surplus
《彩繪》第2集:團扇慶有餘
Instructor: Tsao Ya-ching
Introduction: In ancient times, animals or flowers were often painted on round fans, and goldfish signified surplus. This episode has a round silk fan as the main body, using large, medium and small Lanzhu brushes as well as Chinese painting pigments. The technique of splashing ink on cotton paper is also demonstrated. Students first practice on cotton paper before laying the fan on the table to outline and fill in the colors. The finished product can be a classy and stylish gift.
