A farmer had a horse and a donkey. New year was almost here, and the farmer brought the horse and the donkey to the market to buy new year goods. The farmer bought many things and loaded them onto the backs of the horse and the donkey.
But the donkey was sick and had a hard time carrying so many things. As they climbed the mountain, the donkey felt uncomfortable and asked the horse, “Brother horse, I can’t breathe, could you help me carry some things?” The horse was unhappy and replied, “My load is also very heavy, I cannot help you.” The donkey had no choice but to move forward slowly. Soon the donkey began to feel dizzy. He begged the horse, “Brother Horse, I can’t take it anymore, please help me!” Horse replied, “I can’t take it anymore either. Sorry, but I cannot help you!”
After a while, the donkey collapsed and died. The farmer looked at the donkey and said, “Too bad the donkey is dead and I don’t have a cart, I can only put these goods on the horse.” The farmer put the donkey’s goods on the horse and continued on his way home. The horse said painfully, “I am so regretful. I shouldn’t have ignored the donkey, if I had helped him to carry some of the goods, he wouldn’t have died, and I wouldn’t have to carry so many things now. Gosh… This is heavy!”
